I am trying to start a German club in the Naperville, Illinois, area. If you are interested in joining, please email me. The link is below. I am not sure of the exact logistics yet, but what I was thinking the club could do is to meet periodically, eat, speak German, and attend German cultural activities. There is an organization called the Deutsche Amerikanische National Kongress (dank) , which may be good enough. However, this appears to be just for people of German descent, not for people simply interested in German. There is a Fox Valley (Illinois) chapter however.

You can use this to translate to/from German, and many other languages. It will also do sentences, but they are usually not very correct.
